In our initial lessons, we are going to start you off with a basic understanding of what this game is all about – eg “What is the difference between a 7 iron and a 7 wood.” The first couple of lessons we will focus on the grip and the setup. The fundamentals won’t change, no matter how long you play, so we will set these well and set them early.

These first few lessons will have you hitting balls with a half to thee quarter swing, gradually working up the full swing. Once these fundamentals are in place, we will then progress to the full swing with both woods and irons. After that, then it’s short game. Chipping, pitching and putting. These three are the bedrock of the game and a mastery of these basics will have you on the course in no time. To get you on the golf course quickly, is our aim. To do that, we need to have a basic understanding of the rules and etiquette of the game. Once we have that, then you are ready to be let loose!

Most beginners don’t have clubs and to begin with me, you don’t need them. We have plenty for you to use for both your lessons and practice at no charge at any time. It’s better to wait a little while before buying your first set to make sure that you finish up with what is right for you. There are a lot of choices out there when it comes to equipment and we want to make sure that you get the right stuff that will both suit and help you. So, all you will need for your initial lessons, are sensible shoes. A sense of humor is optional!
